Nea Ionia is a town in Volos Municipality, in the regional unit of Magnesia, in the region of Thessaly, Greece. Nea Ionia lies at 15 m above sea level, at the foot of the Pelion mountains. It has 30,690 inhabitants (2021). The nearest city is Volos, 1.8 km to the southeast. Beaches nearby: Anavros (3.6 km), Alykes (5.3 km), Paralia Kritharia (9 km). Among the landmarks around are Demetrias (3.3 km), Iolcus (3.2 km) and Sesklo (8.1 km). Among the natural features are Cynoscephalae Hills (9.0 km).
