Tlmače is a town in Levice District, in the Nitra Region, Slovakia. Tlmače lies at 189 m above sea level, at the foot of the Štiavnica mountains, by the Hron. It has 3,446 inhabitants (2025). The nearest city is Levice, 9.6 km to the southeast. Among the landmarks around are Hronský Beňadik monastery (6.5 km), Nitra Castle (33 km) and Levice Castle (9.1 km). Among the natural features are Veľký Inovec (13.4 km) and Starohutiansky waterfall (15.6 km).
